EMC Study of the ZVEI proves Risks of unshielded Cabling Systems
  

Shielded wirings are better than unshielded - only a few doubted this so far. But under practical operating conditions the difference between a shielded and an unprotected cabling system could not be shown so easily. The factors of influence were too complex within the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).

Finally the results of a neutral investigation of the "Gesellschaft für HF-Meßtechnik (GHMT)" are presented. They prove that even standard EMC influences can disturb the data transmission significantly. Even more: they can also cause a computer crash, in one case they even caused the destruction of switch ports.
